Hey all and welcome to my blog!
I guess I owe you an introduction considering you’ve taken the time out to read what I’ve put to paper (or should that be to screen?), so I’ll do the best I can to fill you in.
For what a name’s worth, mine is Leon. I was born in Australia and have lived there for most of my natural life, only recently having been bitten by the diabolical insect that is the travel bug did I decide to uproot myself from my country-of-birth and relocate myself to where I am now – beautiful Malaysia, Johor Bahru on the Singapore/Malay border to be exact.
Now to say that this place is a lot different than home would be the understatement of the freaking century. Everything from the people, food and even the taste of the tap water are totally different, which is great to me because right now I want to be as far from anything Australian as possible.
Now don’t get me wrong, I believe I was born in one of the greatest countries on Earth, though when you’ve been in one place for twenty-three years of your life, things can get a bit stale.
Now at home my true passion was and has always been cars, specifically those that originate from the Land of the Rising Sun. The only regret I have about leaving home (sorry Mum) is that I had to sell my precious 180SX before I left, I wasn’t really willing to pay the 200% or whatever tax to the Malaysian government in order for me to bring it here.
But with any sadness can come a blessing in disguise as now I’ll have the chance to modify a fresh car over here, exactly the way I want to make it.
So this is where we come to my blog; basically I’ll be bringing you my experiences of the motoring scene in a brand new part of the world, seen through the eyes of someone who has been used to one way of life for over twenty years. On top of this, I’ll be posting up photos and videos of my new car (whatever it may be) and my attempts at modifying it.
So wecome one and all to the blog of Leon the Australian in Malaysia. Welcome to JDM Asia!
- Leon.
