New Tokyo Auto Show Rumours

I’ve heard through the grapevine that there will be a new aftermarket performance motor show in Tokyo starting from May, however I haven’t been able to dig up any more information about the name, or much else for that matter.

According to a friend-of-a-friend who knows a guy in the industry in Japan (pretty vague, huh?), the organisers are ticked off at the way Tokyo Auto Salon has been run lately; namely the fact that there are more promotional models, like the lovely lady pictured above, than ther are cars these days.

So the new show is said to have a ban on all promo girls and will just go back to the nuts and bolts (no pun intended) of a performance motor show, focusing on the cars and aftermarket goodies instead.

But bear in mind that this is only speculatioin now as I have nothing to go off other than the word of a friend - even though he is usually pretty reliable. If anyone else has more info on this, I’d love to hear it.
