I know this is a couple of months old, but I haven’t posted it before and I thought I might put it up for those of you out there who haven’t had a chance to gawk at the splendor that is Mugen’s Civic RR concept, which was displayed at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon.

The engine is a K20A that has been re-bored to 2.2L ending up with around 260PS and 173 lbs/ft of torque. And as you’d expect, everything else from the suspension, brakes and gearbox have been upgraded as well, but in my opinion the most impressive modifications lie in the body and structure of this car.
Aside from the carbon front bar and aluminium bonnet, the car has been fitted with carbon fibre throughout the frame of the vehicle, including monocoque body supports and even roof supporting structures, all which can be seen in the pictures here.
Mugen have released the Civic Type-RR, however it’s a far cry from the example you see here. Suffice to say, it definitely does not sport the amount of carbon this baby does.
