C&Y Sports Cedric
April 1, 2008 by Leon
Thanks to the guys over at GrandJDM, I’ve been immersing myself in classic JDM culture a bit more regularly of late and have been trawling the ‘net for some fantastic examples of old-school charm.

The Cedric is a car that has been in production by Nissan since 1960, and for those of you out there who may not have ever heard of it, it was later called the Gloria and all you Americans would probably know the late-late-successor of this car as being part of the Infiniti M-series of cars, beginning with the M30 being sold Stateside in 1990.
This example however is an earlier Y30 series, which debuted around ‘83/’84 I think (however I could be wrong and I’m sure the GrandJDM crew will correct me if I am), and comes from the garage of C&Y Sports from Japan.
The original CA20 engine has been swapped out in favour of a monster RB26DETT from a GT-R, and when combined with a single T04R turbo from HKS, puts out around 500PS at the wheels.
But it’s not the raw power that this thing can produce that interests me, it’s the sheer classic beauty of the car that makes me seriously consider the thought of having one of these bad boys imported into Malaysia and suffering the 200% import tax that people are enslaved with in this country.
And how badass is that freaking shifter?!
Thanks to Import Tuner for some of the pics.
-Leon.
